Sander Boury spent his life in the rhythm and heartbeat of music and started his journey as a drummer.

 

However, Sander Boury's evolution as a musician took a surprising turn during the Covid period when he discovered an affinity for piano and saxophone. Driven by curiosity and a desire to broaden his musical horizons, he largely mastered both instruments as an autodidact. This newfound versatility allowed him to merge the different sounds of drums, piano, saxophone and a few other instruments into his unique, self-written compositions.

 

In the summer of 2023, Sander Boury expanded his musical vision by collaborating with Jonathan Frederix (HEISA, Peuk and The Shovels). Jonathan brought his expertise in live percussion and drums, enriching Sander's compositions live with an extra layer of rhythmic energy. Together they perform Sander's compositions with live looping and sampling, which can be described as a cinematic eclectic mix between genres with influences from neo-classical, jazz and ethnic music.

 

Our set has also been combined with visual arts several times, including exhibitions by photographer Louise Degraeve and photographer Wout Van Ackere. Or a soundtrack was provided live on a projection by visual artist Elin Vermandere and visual artist Els Vermandere. So we are open to combining the music with other art forms or to collaborating with other artists.​

 

Sander's debut album Always In a Hurry For When The Time Is Right was released in January 2025. The album was announced in the Wonderland program on Radio 1, among others.
